The thing about where exactly to place the finger print scanner is subjective according to the user.

Someone with short fingers will say that it's placed too high. While someone with long fingers will say that it's placed too low.

So Sony had to pull hairs to try to "guess-timate" where to place it having to deal with millions of different finger lengths. You can't please everyone. There's no perfect place to place the scanner so you can't blame Sony for this.

Sony comes with their own way while Samsung is following Apple design. Very long time so far, Sony profit not to come from electrical devices apart from PS gaming. My though Sony doesn't wanna invest so much on electrical fields, where is now so many competitors. They are investing on insurance, entertainment game and film. Sony is smart enough more than u think !
