6:03 Who needs an APP drawer? Just make a folder and dump everything into it. SMH some people complain about the simplest of things we can easily solve on our own. Plus you either don't know about this tablet enough to be reviewing it, or you're an idiot when it comes to Android devices. I'm guessing the former... because what did you think that third home icon was for?
The first is the Back icon, followed by the Home button and the third... never tried it eh? Thats the multi screen or history button which allows us to switch between multiple APPs and allows multi-tasking... Honestly do you really know about Android devices or you some guy reading a script and is soo oblivious to what Android can do, you probably own and prefer an iPhone...
I have 4 folders on my A8-50 desktop. One for messaging and social media, another for Google APPS, one for Tools I use frequently and a folder for everything else. Or simply make one single folder and dump EVERYTHING into it... There you go you just made yourself an APP drawer... And YES we can drag the folders into the home menu area so it becomes the APP drawer you seem to be soo fond of.
What you failed to mention is the Bluetooth 4.0 capability and the built-in active GPS chip which does not require WiFi to work. Both the A8 and A10 will actively search for a satellite and log in which it uses for its own built in map function which works like a Garmin device with speech for searching and announcing turns and routes.
The A8 has three models, the A8-50, A5500 and the A80F. The difference is the A8-50 (as shown in this video) only has a single speaker on the front and only WiFi a/b/g capabilities. The A5500 has two stereo speakers and when using the Dolby control APP, the surround sound virtualization option can be accessed. In the A8-50 it won't activate if the single speaker is the output source, but it will when headphones or Bluetooth devices are connected. The last model, the A80F is harder to find as it has 3G capabilities but the WiFi is b/g/N plus dual speakers.
Also maybe there is a difference for models purchased in Canada and the USA because my battery (Canada) was a 6000 mAh battery which I have since replaced with a 3rd party 6800 mAh one when the original one died.
It is a mid range tablet so why you complaining it can't keep up with your high end game playing... I works perfect for my needs and I don't game, but I do use the Bluetooth with the Digital Dolby chip enhancements to as an MP3 device when I'm out and about. Sure beats draining my phone for music.
I paired a set of Bluedio HT Turbine Hurricane headphones (Bluetooth 4.1). Plus I can connect both my phone, headset and speakers to the tablet at the same time. I use the mobile hotspot on my phone to give the tablet Wifi, and to pause the music when a call comes through. The Bluedio (Bluetooth headset) announces a call is coming in and allows the headphones to pause (not mute) the playback until the call is done. The tablet claims it can connect to 4 devices through Bluetooth at the same time, but I only have 3 devices so couldn't test that part yet.
Like most stock music players, the Lenovo one is pretty basic and doesn't have any advance features so I use a 3rd party player called, "Black Player", an Ad Free - free mp3 music player with advanced capabilities including playlists and downloading missing iD3 tag info when connected to the net.

Nice review thanks. As well as general tablet use I'd like to use it for tethering to my dslr in the studio. Would you say this is a good tablet for this, please?

Yes I have the A8-50 which I use the OTG capability to my Fujifilm HS50EXR camera which is a hybrid camera with manual control and even though it has a digital eyepiece and rotating 3" display I still like using the tablet to give myself an even bigger display...

Though there is no APP drawer, we can make folders to dump everything into. The manual doesn't actually have any info on this. I discovered it accidentally on my own. Simply hold down an APP and drag it over another and release and the two APP's will be put into a folder. Open the folder to edit a name if you wish. I can't figure out how to change/edit the, "Owner" button in the right shutter menu. When we click on it, it reports, "No such Contact exists"... hmmm
Also this A8-50 model has 4 versions and each have slight hardware changes between them all. The one I have on the box it shows two speakers and it even has the SIM and microSD image printed on the door flap, but when I opened the box. As it turns out the one I got only has 1 speaker and no SIM card slot. So the Dolby virtual sound setting can't be turned on without plugging in headphones or connecting a Bluetooth headset. The virtualization setting is minimal and not like an annoying echo. On some songs it was barely noticeable. Overall I am still happy with this purchase... I got it for $90 CAD.

I've owned it for a month and my overall experience is a pleasure. For those who just want something portable to watch movies, check email, YouTube and play simple android games it's a VFM choice.

proud owner of the A8. it's a good overall tablet. it's not performance driven for games but honestly, if you want to play high intensity video games get a console. lol i mainly use it to check my email, watch videos and read books
