Catching it at 400$ off at Verizon on Black Friday made it a lot easier choice.

I agree with the addition of pros on everyday automation and cons on bugs that still need to be resolved. You are right, the call screen was one of the major reason for the pixel 3 but only to find out later that is only for the US.

In would never have paid the full $1000.00 USD here for the 128GBXL. However, I got a Black Friday steal, $400.00 off up front from Best Buy. $600 out the door no contract + $200 back from selling my original Pixel. It was a no brainier. 3 days in & loving pretty much everything but the notch.

You didn't have much to say about the camera. I've had mine for only 24 hours and the camera is already doing amazing things I've never seen in any other smart phone.

I ordered the LG v35, I want a 3.5mm jack.

Personally I would get the Pixel 3, great size, does the rest well, competitive in a few months to other phones in that size?...The notch and such just kind of ruined the XL look for me. Currently on an LG G7 and liking it.

I would say that the value would be the software and seamless integration with your Pixel/Chromebooks that are on the market in addition to the many Google Powered smart speakers out there. I would say, yes, it's a bit overpriced if we're looking at physical construction alone, but when you throw in the software integration with Google's other products and services that the value is then driven upwards. You only briefly mentioned the Google Assistant, but then nothing about how the broader software integration w/ Google Services and Features adds to the value. Also, unlimited photo back up in full res., updates straight from Google, etc., etc.... Just sayin'.
