It really does suck when working with this case as a good bit of the screws on this machine can be stripped.
having to get a wrench and twist the screws off like you're heman or some shit is so shitty.
I'm all for a secure case and concept but when it takes you so much effort just to get a few screws undone it's a fundamental issue.
I've put a 2080 super, new fans, new memory, a new hard drive and the amount of screws that feel glued on are disgusting.

Stop lying bitch, making no mention about the retarded screw that can easily be stripped on the back, that you need to get rid of before using the tabs!
That retarded shit of design with the screw (I would love to smack the shit out of the genius who thought of it) negates any benefits you get from the quick access latch. To me, this is like having a phone with super quick face recognition unlock, but for some inexplicable reason, you have to punch in a 30 digit security code every time you want your face unlocked!

I have a single hard drive in which the operating system is installed on. I wish to replace the hard drive but what about the recovery partition? Anyone?

Really dumb question, but replacing the SSD won't void my warranty, right?

The video at .22 seconds says, remove the side panel by pushing the clip. No mention that a screw must be removed first. Without removing the screw, the side panels can't be released. Poor job explaining a very simple process.

where are the screws?
- @mrxexes

Exactly!!! What is the use of having a quick access latch if you have to unscrew a prioritized screw that can easily become stripped with a normal Phillips-head?
Whoever thought of this, gets my nominee for dumb fuck of the year!!!!

Am i able to add a secondary SSD to my area 51 (I ordered a 128g ssd for the boot drive and a 2TB for storage)? I popped open the case and noticed some extra cables with SATA labels, and some ones with POWER labels. There is also an extra slot or two to screw in a new hard drive.

Hi AW support, I recently installed a new Samsung 850 evo alongside the 2TB HDD my A51 system came stock with. I switched my SATA 0 (that originally had my HDD on it) to my Samsung and moved my HDD to SATA 1. I did a clean install of my OS on my SSD as im using it to boot my OS and my HDD for storage, but now it says "AHCI mode deactivated" on my SSD, but before AHCI was always activated. I've tried resetting my bios to factory defaults but it hasn't helped. Would you be so kind as to tell me how to enable AHCI through the BIOS so that I can have the performance benefits it provides? Thanks so much!

Hey Alienware services. I am looking to get one of these rigs ,but I'm not sure it will last at least two years. So I was wondering how long could this computer last.

I just purchased my A51-R2 and I have 1 HDD (for storage) and 1 SSD Samsung 850 EVO installed (for boot drive). I wanted to purchase a 3rd SSD like the Samsung 950 PRO -Series 256GB PCIe NVMe - M.2 Internal SSD 2-Inch MZ-V5P256BW and use this for my boot drive due to it being faster, but I wanted to confirm here that these kinds of drives will work with my system. The mobo in the A51 is just a basic x99 mobo so it should be compatible with it, but I wanted to make sure that it will work before my purchase.

Hello .. I have a question ..
Can I have HHD1 + HDD2 on Raid 1 / SSD4 & SSD 5 on Raid 1 and HDD 3 as normal?
Do I need to buy a internal Raid controller for that? Or can the system handle it.

OK .. thank you for the reply .. I have a fallow-up question. The Area 51 system I just ordered has a i7 5820k CPU and a dual GTX 980 Ti setup .. will the CPU support a internal PCI SSD like the HyperX Predator PCIe Gen2 x4 HHHL?

What size screws are needed for the cages for both the SSD and Hard Drive. These are not included inside the case and while you pull the four out within the video you do not state their information to anyone and leave us to simply guess. This is not a question for the singular one that holds the cage down securely but the four that hold the SSD/HD to the cage.

+Alienware Services I installed the SSD and hooked it up to the HDD SATA5 and HDD PWR5 cables and turned my computer on. My computer does not recognize the device (Samsung 850 EVO 500GB 2.5-Inch SATA III Internal SSD). I went to Disk Management as some videos show and it is not registering. Is there something I am missing here?

+Alienware Services This is the only PC I own. I installed the device after opening it as the video showed then turned my PC on. I also checked with another Hard Drive and it isn't picking anything up besides the 2TB HD it came with.
