I recently bought this PC last year, except mine has the 970 instead of the 980. Still a great desktop for the price and size. I've seen many people give it shit since it's a small form factor, but in my own humble opinion, it's still an overall nice PC to have. And after purchasing, including all of the Best Buy discounts I received, it only came to be around $1,000, which was very nice. Handling games in 4k like GTA V w/ the Redux mod at over 60 frames per second is a luxury that was well worth the grand.

I use the Panasonic G7 which shoots 4K UHD @ 30 FPS.
Did you order this pc on amazon?
I didn't, no. I had a $100 discount from Oculus for preordering if I purchased directly from ASUS. But many others in the comments here have purchased from Amazon with great experiences.

Hmm... I'm not sure man. I researched it briefly to see if I could upgrade the graphics card without voiding warranty, and what I read made me think that I could (although I never double-checked with support). Unless you did something really obvious that could have damaged the computer or caused this problem, I wouldn't worry about it too much.
+VirtualRealityGinger yea the reason I opened it up was because my hard drive started making a clicking noise I didn't do much just took out the hard drive to see if there was anything I could do but there was nothing so i assembled it back didn't touch anything else didn't see anything wrong with the fans either
+VirtualRealityGinger and what I've been seeing is that when everyone else opens it up it always has I think 3 fans but mine has a total of 4 could that be why it's so loud?
I honestly don't know, man. I just know someone had this exact issue (the fans should be very quiet) and ASUS took care of them when they got in touch with support.

Great unboxing! Have a quick question though. Does it have to sit vertically or can it sit horizontally as well?
You can lay it on its side like a console without any issues, but it's definitely not designed for that, unfortunately. Although it's noteworthy that laying it on its side wouldn't block any vents.

I think there's something wrong with yours. The fan should be very quiet. I had another person comment with the same issue on this video or the full review (can't remember which). He got in touch with ASUS support and they replaced it. They said it was a faulty part. Check my full review - there's a recording of the tower when it's under a lot of strain. If yours is significantly louder than that, you should contact ASUS support and get a warranty repair or replacement.

+Himanshu Gautam I highly doubt it. I can't imagine its small form factor allowing for more than one video card.
did you have any issues installing the Oculus software? I have the same computer and it fails everytime telling me to restart the computer
+JimLitzFilms Yes - disable or uninstall McAfee. That'll fix it right up. That was really, REALLY frustrating to figure out.
