hi my shorter flex cable snapped that connects to motherboard from screen and now my home button not working , is the felx cable replaceable?

ik this is 3 years old but when your making millions of these, 0.01 grams of aluminum can make thousands of dollars in difference
You should never use a sharp metal tool, like pointed tweezers, to pry up the flex cables. It can pierce or tear the cable. Use the spudger instead. Slide it underneath parallel to the phone. If it's stubborn, lightly heat from the screen side with a heat gun to soften the adhesive. If you damage the home button cable, you lose touch id. It's paired with the phone and replacing the button won't bring it back.

I have switch a bunch of screens.....I just fixed one now and the phone won’t turn on,.....is there something I should check for???

Home buttons on the iphone 7 and up are biometrically synced to the board, in replacing them fingerprint will never work again. You may only use your original in replacements.

Step 2: spend 400$ to fix your screen instead of 60!
Step 3: it isn't fixed. Buy a new iPhone XR for 1200$
you dont need an exacto knief if you use a plastic suction cup.

It seems impossible to unscrew the tri-point and phillips screws inside the phone. I'm using the tool kit that comes with the replacement screen bought over Ebay. do i need to buy a proper screwdrivers?

Aren't you suppose to reapply adhesive to keep the phone water proof?
yes but not 100% necessary.
It wil never be water resistant anymore, but, there is some cases who are water proof
Gabriel Mc Gann Yes it can with an adhesive it can retain the water resistance but it’s up to u if u want it to stay that way...
No iPhone is 100% water proof.

2 years late but it mean its not original..
