repair ASUS M32CD Power Supply and Graphics Card Upgrade

just did this but cannot seem to get the system to recognize the gpu i added - any help?

I got this for free I believe the graphics card is bad no display I'm gonna have to retest it been sitting for a year or more was an old work PC at my old job

So your Asus PC didn't come with a GPU to begin with? I got a hold of an Asus Essentio desktop M51BC PC, & it has an XFX GPU (not sure, yet, what model). I think it came in the PC. Does Asus have lists for what systems that they make that show what can be upgraded - to what level? Thank you 🤓 the stock PSU (Delta brand) is a 500W.

8:50 on the expansion slot covers, the little cross shaped hole in them isn't for looks or airflow, it's actually so you can get a screwdriver into them so you can easily wiggle them out

The PCIe slot on my motherboard must be faulty. I've upgraded the PSU and tried to install different graphics cards in it (Radeon HD 5870, Radeon HD 7570, GeForce GT 640, and GeForce GTX 570). All of these graphics cards work in other computers, but when I put them in this one I don't get any display output through the graphics card (but the computer itself is still booting to the desktop because the keyboard num, caps, and scroll locks light up when I press them. The only card I got to work was a Nvidia GeForce GT 710, which has the shorter PCIe x8 contacts. This makes me think that it's the slot itself (though there is no visible damage and that slot had never been used before). Really frustrating, as a GT 710 is actually less powerful than the integrated graphics.

is the rear cooling fan 90mm or 120mm? my pc is asus m11ad... and is it ok to put a fan in the front? if its ok... what size?

i am just wondering what size is the rear cooling fan attached there? my motherboard is H81M-A... and is the air going in or going out?

I just did this - Antec 450PSU and Nvidia Geforce 1050 ti graphics card - glad to see I did it the right way! That motherboard connector really was a mother to get out, and I'm glad I didn't cut myself getting those two backplates off. I will note it was a lot less easy doing it in situ as I did than out on the bench, but we all make our choices.
